Kayaking

Autumn Intro Half dayTo paddle a kayak through the beach-barriered harbors of Northern Cape Breton, or in the Atlantic ocean along its cliff side shorelines is to experience a oneness with marine beauty.

Terry--and-Eagle.jpgKayaking opportunities here range from self-guided excursions in one’s own boats, launched at local facilities, to guided or unguided outings in rented craft.

Local operators provide guided tours, and offer boat rentals, and a range of levels of touring, from novice harbor experiences in the large sheltered harbors of the region to half day and full day trips in the Atlantic. These tours offer introductory training, if necessary, and travel to particularly striking destinations. Sightings of shorebirds and eagles are common, as well as occasional sightings of moose and, on the ocean tours, whales and seals.
